Mrs. Mary Magalene Coleman Baker, age 88 of Appomattox, passed away on December 29, 2021 in South Boston.  She was the daughter of Oscar and Bessie Coleman Jones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil Baker, Jr.; sons, Joe Baker, Thomas Baker, and Ernest Baker; sisters, Mary Lee Dews, Anne Mae Coleman, Anne Lou Coleman, Beatrice Jones, and Elsie Moon; brothers, Henry Coleman and Joe Jones; best friends, Jasper Moon, and Barbara Cobbs.

She is survived by her children, Margaret Wright (Joe) and Stanley Baker (Jackie) of Pamplin, Mary Baker, Helen Baker, Laverne Lee (James), all of Appomattox, and Roy Baker (Kitty) of Baltimore, MD; five children, she raised as her own, Juanita Jennings, Malik Jones, Devontae Woods, Daniel Jennings (Dorothy), and Rusty Jennings (Ann); great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; brother, Alonzo Jones (Shorty) of Roanoke, VA;  sisters-in-law, Betty Jones and Adamae Coleman;  and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
