Mrs. Mary Hamlett, age 81 of Drakes Branch, passed away on May 10, 2023 at her residence.  She was the daughter of the late Virginia Wyatt Reid and John Quincy Reid.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Hamlett, Sr.; sister, Rose Merie Reid; brothers, John Quincy Reid, Jr., James Author Reid and William Reid; god daughter, Cindy Louise Reid; two twin aunts, Margaret Ann Reid and Dorothy Faye Reid; brother-in-law, Robert Lee Harris.

She is survived by one sister, Linda Harris of Appomattox; devoted grandchildren, Charmane, Angelique, and Russell; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Reid of Phenix, Virginia and Dorothy Reid of Randolph; nieces, Lorrie Reid of Douglas County, GA and a devoted niece, Roxanne Haskins of Northern Virginia; devoted cousin, Pearl Ross of Charlotte Court House, Virginia; devoted friend, Sherman Spraggins of Charlotte Court House; and a host of other relatives and friends.
