Mrs. Mary LaPrade Petty, age 81 of Nathalie, passed away on November 25, 2021, in Brookneal.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. Jessie LaPrade and Mrs. Nannie Garland LaPrade.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gayle Faustine Petty; her son, Aaron Maurice Petty; three brothers, Lacy, Stacy, and Lesley LaPrade, and one sister, Virginia Chambliss.

She is survived by two brothers, Paul LaPrade of Oakland, CA, and Robert LaPrade of Brooklyn, NY; a devoted nephew, Sherman LaPrade (Kim) of Nathalie, and a host of additional nieces and nephews; sisters–in–law, Bettie J. LaPrade, Helena Averett and Sally LaPrade, all of Nathalie, VA and Bessie Edmonds of New York, NY; devoted friends, Lafayette Freeman, Vivian Forrest, Frances Forrest, and Irma Hamlor; and a host of cousins and additional friends.
