Mary Jane Scott, age  90 of Cullen, passed away on August 5, 2024 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Willie James Poteat and Ethel Queen White Poteat.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie & Ethel Poteat; her loving husband, Bishop Frank Scott; her two brothers, Robert & Willie Poteat; and one sister, Shirley Poteat.

Left to cherish her memories and honor her legacy are devoted nephew, Danny Jenkins (Nelly), Elder Clarkie Williams (Barbara) whom she loved as her son; two brothers, Richard Poteat (Yvette) of New York and Benjamin Poteat of Alexandria; nieces, Michelle Poteat, Tara Felder, Pattie Jenkins, Shentel Gaines, Louise Smith(John), Shirley Lawson and Tessie Greene; nephews, Ricky Jenkins and Merland Logan (Deborah); and a host of great- nieces and nephews and other relatives, church family, friends and a few devoted neighbors.
