Mr. Matthew Aquilla Mosby, Sr. age 87 of Brookneal, passed away on December 27, 2022 in Lynchburg. He was the son of the late James White Mosby and Tamar Lee Johnson Mosby.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Ryan Mosby.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Marion Armistead Mosby of the home; his children, Matthew Mosby, Jr. of Clifton Forge, Dinah Jackson (Charles) of Rustburg, Roxie Stone of Gladys, Annette Cleveland of Lynchburg,  and Connie Wiley (Rev. Guy) of Copper Cove, TX; twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Elsie Foster of Shipman, Mary Hunter of Concord, Annie Randolph of Phenix, and Marie Mosby of Lynchburg; brother-in-law, Reafus Armistead of Brookneal; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
