Michael Anthony Mason, Sr., age 55 of Concord, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020, in Lynchburg, Va. He was born on February 26, 1965, in Alexandria, Virginia.  For the past fifteen years, he made his home in Concord, with Doug Fitch, Jr. and his most beloved canine, Chance.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Eugene C. Mason, Sr., his mother, Mrs. Betty Hepburn Garton; and one brother, Eugene C. Mason, Jr.

He was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church and was proudly baptized in the Falling River near his home.

He was a kind and gentle man and friend to many. He was a handyman to many in the community sharing his many talents to help someone. He enjoyed camping and fishing at Buggs Island  Lake and playing cards with good friends and family.  He loved his country life taking care of the garden and his many chickens and guineas who he called all by names. We will miss his wonderful smile, his laughter, and his pranks.

He is survived by one son, Michael Anthony Mason, Jr. of Appomattox; his stepmother, Betty Mason of Pamplin; four sisters, Deborah Humbles (Paul) of Appomattox, Crystle Powers of South Boston, Lynn Clements (Larry) of Rice, and Diane Ross and husband of Richmond; two brothers, David Mason (Angela) of Appomattox and Ricky Nelson (Kathy) of Richmond; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
