Nathaniel
Stacy
July 21, 1948 – March 2, 2026
On March 2, 2026 at 4:45pm, our Dad and Granddad, Nathaniel Stacy died at his residence in the Bronx NY. He was born on July 21, 1948 to the late Mr. Willie and Mrs. Annie Mae Mell Stacy and they lived in Riceboro, GA.
Nathaniel graduated from Liberty County High School and after graduation he went on to join the United States Army as a wireman communications specialist. After his tour ended, he moved to New York City where he met our mom, Mrs. Bessie Boulden Spencer Stacy at a party and they never parted from that day.
On May 8, 1975, our dad married our mom and raised three children, Carolyn Boulden Norwood of Jersey City NJ, Tryone Norwood of Wilmington, DE and Sandra Gail Norwood of West New York, NJ. They have two grandchildren, Tyrone Nathaniel Norwood of Daytona Beach, FL and Jazzlyn A. Norwood of Wilmington DE. This coming May they would have celebrated fifty-two years of marriage.
Dad worked for UPS as a package handler for over 30 years before retiring. Nathaniel Stacy was a gift from God, the man that would raise three good children into decent God-fearing adults. For that we honor, and we cherish every moment spent with dad. We respect him to the fullest and mourn yet celebrate him through tears, laughter and pain. It was a privilege to take care of our dad, there is nothing we his children would not do to protect him as he has protected and loved us. We are forever grateful.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Stacy, Willie Phillip Stacy; and sister, Peggy Stacy.
Our dad is survived by his brother, Chris Stacy of Riceboro GA. His sisters; Carolyn Stacy Screet of Atlanta GA, Betty Stacy Davis of Atlanta GA, and Lena Stacy Murphy of Atlanta GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
