Mr. Obadiah McCoy, Jr. age 79 of Appomattox, passed away on January 21, 2025 at his residence. He was the son of the late Obadiah McCoy, Sr. and Mattie McCoy Kidd. He was married to Lois Johnson McCoy.

He was preceded in death by his son, Andre' L. McCoy; sisters, Martha Pankey, Phyllis Dunson (Nathaniel), Lois Scruggs (Henry), Peggy Hannah, Merry Bassett, Arnelle Hamlett (Richard); brother Percy Kidd; father-in-law, Al W. Johnson; mother-in-law, Henrietta P. Johnson; sister-in-law, Mildred Williams (Clio); and brothers-in-law, Herman Kelso, Michael Matthews, and Al Fontaine Johnson.

He leaves his legacy of love to mourn his absence his loving wife, Lois J. McCoy; his daughter, Katina M. Whorley (Ezra); two granddaughters, Antonia Whorley and Kristina Cummings; sisters, Marion Kelso, Mable Kidd (Richard), Doretha Woolridge (Leroy), Beverly Kidd, Lucille Ferguson (Eddie), and Linda Johnson (Terry), brothers-in-law, Raymond Pankey, Haywood Hannah, and Edwin Basset; sisters-in-law, Lonell Kidd and Yvonne Johnson (Roy); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
