Mrs. Orister Clemie Jackson Tuck, age 96 daughter of the late Henry and Mary Jackson, was born on January 24, 1927 in Phenix, Virginia. She departed this life on June 8, 2023 in Roanoke at her home.

Orister attended school in Charlotte County. She joined the Nazareth Baptist Church at an early age. She later moved to New Jersey where she worked at various jobs, mostly domestic housekeeping. She loved working in the yard, doing gardening and planting flowers.

Orister is preceded in death by two husbands; six brothers; two sisters; and her only son.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Lillian Jackson Brackins of Roanoke, Virginia; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Cecil McFarland of Baltimore, Maryland, Vernell Clark of Phenix, Virginia; brother, Percell Jackson (Beverly) of Phenix, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Helen Jackson of Appomattox, Virginia;  and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
