Mr. Owen Tunney Layne, Jr., age 70 of Halifax, passed away on October 28, 2025 at his residence.  He was the son of the late Mr. Owen T. Layne, Sr. and Mrs. Esther Mae Taylor Layne.  He was the husband of the late Mrs. Rosetta Marie Tomlin Layne.

He is survived by seven children, Floyd Layne (Rosalyn) of South Boston, Sheryl Layne of Nathalie, David Layne of Nathalie, April Layne of Florida, and Tonya Davis (Thomas) of Renan, Owen T. Layne, III (Amanda) of Halifax, and Toshia Layne (William) of Halifax; 41 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two brothers, Mr. Russell Layne of Nathalie and Raymond Layne (Becky) of Nathalie; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Rusty and Timothy Layne.
