Patricia Barksdale Irby, age 81 of Gladys, passed away on January 3, 2026 in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Malcom Barksdale and Reva Tribble Barksdale Lee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, M. E. Barksdale; and sisters, Brenda Hudson and Vivian Hawkins.

She is survived by her children, L. Malcolm McDaniel ( April) of Brookneal and Curtis D, McDaniel, both of Brookneal; grandchildren, John McDaniel (Desiree), Jacob McDaniel and A. J. McDaniel, all of Lynchburg; one great grandchild; sister-in-law, Dana Barksdale of Brookneal; and a host of other relatives and friends.
