Patricia Whitehead, age 78 of Meherrin, passed away on December 11, 2023 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Joe Tea Arvin, Sr. and Laura Estelle Thompson Arvin.

Patricia was joined in holy matrimony to the love of her life the late Rufus Whitehead on July 25, 1964 in Charlotte County. To this union was born three children Daryel, Celestine, and Jeffrey.

She is survived by two sons, Daryel St. (Bernadine) and Jeffrey, Sr. (Chowainee), both of Keysville; one daughter, Celestine (Darrell) of Meherrin; eight grandchildren, Daryel. Jr. (Tiyana); Derrice (Jade), Leah, Jeffrey, Jr. Makayla, Joshua, Da'Miya and DaNizjah; seven great grandchildren, Caleb, Damani, Damari, Noah, Da'Niyah, Lily, and Navy; two sisters, Eunice Bedford of Charlotte, NC and Sadie Warren of Keysville; six sisters-in-law, Anne Alford and Ida Johnson, both of Philadelphia, PA; Virginia Whitehead of Jamaica, New York; Ruth Jackson (James) of Victoria, Kathren Smith and Delois Hite, both of Keysville; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including one special and dedicated niece, Venecia Watson; four devoted friends, Peggy Scott, Mary Smith, Sarah Jefferson, and Estelle Jennings.
