Phillip Douglas Lovelace, age 71 passed on May 18, 2025 in Lynchburg. He was the son of the late George Black and Virginia Mae Lovelace Scott and raised by Vanie Scott.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Joyce M. Jones and Barbara A. Jones; brothers-in-law, Randy Jones, George Warnell Scott and Ronald Lee Scott; and niece, Shawna Scott.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Veronica Price (Antonio) of Danville, VA, Shane Scott (Kristi) and Phillip Lovelace (Lisa) of Maryland, Vicky Lovelace and their mother, JoAnn Lovelace of Alexandria, VA; thirty-one grandchildren (devoted granddaughter, Angel Smith); and thirty great grandchildren; sisters, Florine Gilbert (Charlie), Edith Jones (Horace), Sarah Scott, Connie Butler (Bishop Dwight), Carolyn Monroe, and Debra Carr (James); brothers, William Lovelace, Larry Marable (Lois), Dennis Marable (Joan) and George Black (Sheila); sisters-in-law, Phyllis Brown (Larry), Vanessa Stotts (Tracy), Georgia Watkins, (Michael) Bernice Watkins (Cordell) and Leanette Watkins; brothers-in-law, Jeffrey Jones, Sr., Larry Scott (Linda), Wallace Scott (Iris) and David Scott (Linda); two aunts, Edith Mobley and Lula Gilliam; a loving significant other, Virginia Elliotte; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members.
