Mr. Richard Michael Disher, age 76 of Gladys, passed away on December 6, 2022 in Lynchburg. He was the son the of the late Alvin Eugene Disher and Helen Cleo Trivette Disher.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-six years, Rita Lyons Disher.

He is survived by Andrew "Drew" Disher and Scott Disher (Melinda); three grandchildren, Ashley White (Cameron), Ryan Disher (Caroline) and Brandon Disher; sister, Debbie Sheets (Joe); niece, Jessy Sheets; her two children, Reid and Stella DiGiacomo; sister-in-law, Robbyn Lyons; brother-in-law, Mickey Lyons.

Rick served his country in the Army Reserves and also served his community as Gladys Volunteer Fireman.  He worked for many years at Thomasville Furniture in Brookneal until the plant closed. He then worked and retired from Lynchburg General Hospital. He loved to fish and hunt in his younger years. But most of all, he cherished his time at the beach with his wife, Rita and traveled with very close friends, the "Gladys Family".
