Ronald Lee Hamlett, age 57 of Gladys, passed away on February 16, 2026 in Charlottesville, Virginia. He was the son of the Lieutenant Hamlett, Sr.  and the late Mildred Daniels Hamlett. He was married to Bonnie Schrock Hamlett.

In addition to his mother, Mildred Hamlett, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sallie H. Ward and his grandson, Elijah Preston Bailey.

Ronnie leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Bonnie Hamlett of Gladys; his children, Shronda Mosley of Appomattox, Rondell Hamlett and Angela Harvey of Lynchburg, and Maya Hamlett of Charlotte, North Carolina; his stepchildren, Cody (Kassidy) Cash of Brookneal, and Brooke Cash of Lynchburg; and his beloved grandchildren, Karter Blackmon, Reagan Trinti Hamlett, Jayden Tremaine Miller, Rondell Thomas Hamlett Jr, Ashton Kobe Hamlett, Andrez Chaysen Harvey, Josiah Alexander Burrell, Jahmir Miller, Christopher Sandidge and step-granddaughter, Iris Cash.

He is also survived by his father, Lieutenant Hamlett, Sr. of Red House, Virginia; siblings Tammy (Roland) Jefferson of Columbus, Ohio, Lieutenant Hamlett, Jr., Anthony Hamlett, Laura (Bobby) Jones of Red House, Virginia, Marvin Hamlett of Brookneal, Virginia, and Yvonne Jackson of Temple Hills, Maryland.

He will be lovingly remembered by his aunt and bonus mom, Maude Hamlett of New York, New York; aunts Dorothy (Leroy) Ransome of Roanoke, Maudestine (Willie) Hendricks and Cheryl (Vincent) Elam of Chesterfield, Linda (James) Ferguson and Patricia (Jonathan) Ferguson of Evergreen, Nancy (Paul) Napier of Red House, and Ivy Haskins of Baltimore, Maryland; his uncle, John (Marion) Hamlett of Lynchburg, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
