Roosevelt Carden, age 83, of Scottsburg, Virginia departed peacefully from this life on Monday, August 11, 2025 at his home surrounded by family. He was a warrior who fought a good fight against colon cancer. He was known and respected as a Master Mechanic using his knowledge and skills to help many people in his community and surrounding counties.

He was the son of the late Clarence and Maggie Craddock Carden.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Carden, of the home; and his daughters, ShaRon Carden, Melanie Taylor Carden and Michelle E. Johnson.

A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11:00 am at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel, 304 Lusardi Dr, Brookneal, VA 24528.

The family will be wearing the color blue in remembrance of their loved one.
