Roosevelt Franklin Smith, age 83 of Gladys, Virginia, passed away on May 5, 2026 at his residence. He was the son of the late Roosevelt Smith and Maggie Angeline Jones Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine Brown Smith; his children, Troy Finch (Lawane), Mark Smith, Joshua Brown (Dr. Alquietta), Russell Smith and Sygnoria Brown; grandchildren, Joshua-Ryan Brown, Keara White, Latasia White, Morgan Shields (Jeremiah), Donovan Finch, and Trevor Finch; great-grandchildren, Jayce Thomas, Skylar Shields, Moriya Shields, and Eliyana Shields; siblings, Lois Smith Jones, Maggie Smith, Sally Smith and Mike Smith (Mary); loyal friends, Dianne Fallen and Ben and Shirley Wheaton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
