Mrs. Rose Merie Reid, age 73 of Appomattox, passed away on October 14, 2022 in Lynchburg. She was the daughter of the late John Quincy Reid Sr. and Virginia Wyatt Reid.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Louise Reid; brothers, John Quincy Reid, Jr., James Author Reid and William Reid; twin sisters, Margaret Ann Reid and Dorothy Faye Reid; and brother-in-law, Robert Lee Harris.

Rose leaves a beautiful legacy of family and friends to keep her memory alive; two daughters, Lorrie Reid of Douglas County, GA, and Roxanne Haskins of Northern Virginia; nine grandchildren, including  her devoted granddaughter, Charmane Reid of Lynchburg, and her devoted grandsons, Avante and CeQuan Morris of Northern Virginia; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Harris of Appomattox, Virginia and Mary Hamlett of Drakes Branch, Virginia; sisters-in-law, Gladys Reid of Phenix, Virginia and Dorothy Reid of Randolph, Virginia; a very dear sister friend, she loved and shared many great times together, Nellie Copeland of Rice, Virginia;  godchildren, Beverly Casper, James Copeland, Tony Bolden, Maxine Farrar, Elaine Staten, Clifton Clark, Crystal Clark and Ronnie Harvey; a very special friend she enjoyed many good times with, Cecil Harvey of Appomattox; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
