Mr. Samuel Lydell Morton, age 52 of Richmond, passed away on September 25, 2020 in Richmond. He was the son of Mrs. Gladys S. Morton and the late Mr. Fred T. Morton, Sr.

Lydell was preceded in death by his father, Fred T. Morton Sr.; grandparents, Russell Sr. and Louise Anderson Morton, Samuel and Gracie Snead Spencer.

He leaves to love and cherish his memories, his four children, daughter, Tyree Jackson (Ernest) of Tappahannock; sons, Patrick D. Morton, and Christian Samuel Morton of Richmond; step-daughter, Marketa R. Brown of Charlotte Court House; grandchildren, Nigeria and Keyaira Ball of Tappahannock; loving mother, Gladys S. Morton; brother, Fred T. Morton Jr. (Natlyn); sisters, Caroline L. Morton-Brown (John), Anita L. Morton (Jack) and loved like a brother, Jerry Thompson (Livia) all of Richmond, VA; uncles, James Morton (Valerie), Roberta Morton (Rosa), William (Billy) Spencer, all of Charlotte C.H., VA; aunts, Virginia Spencer, Florence M. Lockett, Melvina T. Morton and Barbara Morton; god-father, John Gaines (Josephine) of Queens, NY; god-sister, Charlene Gaines of Charlotte C.H. VA; devoted friend and partners, Yvonne James, Roddric Drumgold, and Kerry (Jack) Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends he loved dearly.
