Sandra Gale Slayton, 72, of Gladys passed away on February 1, 2024 in Lynchburg.  Sandra was born on November 8, 1951 in Gladys, Virginia and was the sixth of seven children of the late Henry U. and Dorothy T. Slayton.

In addition to her parents and former husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Bettie Haines and Marjorie Slayton; and one brother, Elijah Slayton

She is survived by her children, Tonika L. Goode of North Carolina, Tangelia Goode of California and Roosevelt William Goode, III of Ohio; two sisters, Dottson "Tim" Whidbee and Irma Slayton; one brother and his wife, the Reverend Terry and Darlene Slayton; two grandchildren, Karlton Payne and Dimon Pittman; one brother-in-law, the Reverend Ralph E. Haines, III; two nieces, Beatrice Whidbee and Ashley Pinkney; and three nephews, Mark Haines, Christian Haines, and Sherman Whidbee.
