Obituary

Miss Sherrill Renee Bradley, age 53 of Alexandria passed away on March 17, 2025.  Born on February 8, 1972, in Brookneal, Virginia, she was the daughter of Ernest Clifton Bradley and the late Constance Deloris Pannell Bradley.  A proud William Campbell High School graduate, Class of 1990, Sherrill lived with unwavering faith, boundless love, and a heart devoted to service.

Her spiritual journey began at Green Spring Baptist Church, where she nurtured a deep connection with God.  After moving to Alexandria in 2009, she met her soulmate, Sharard Heggs, and together they were blessed with two children, Nadia and Sincere.  She was their biggest supporter, a devoted mother, capturing Nadia's liturgical dance assignments and cheering at Sincere's basketball games with pride.

Sherrill later became a dedicated Harvest Assembly Baptist Church member, where her worship passion shown brightly.  She spent over twenty years in healthcare, touching countless lives with her kindness and compassion as a Certified Nursing Assistant and later a Medtech at Heathwood Retirement Community.

In 2022, she was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer, a battle she faced with faith and resilience.  She celebrated a victory in 2023, ringing the bell in triumph, but God had a different plan and gently called her home.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Nadia and Sincere Heggs; her father, Ernest Clifton Bradley; her sister, Kiresten Lynette Dews (Michael); her brothers, Ernesto Dante Bradley and Dominique Andrais Bradley (Latosha); her devoted partner, Sharard Heggs; and her cherished aunts, Karen Pannell, Barbara Crews (Will), Shirley Canada, and Sharon Pringle (Jonnie).  She also leaves behind her uncles, Donnie Pannell (Barbara), Pastor Allen Pannell (Joan), Lewis Bradley, Kevin Lewis, Alphonso Bradley, and Reginald Bradley; her godmother, Gloridine Adams; her goddaughter, Shakayla Crawley; her godsister, Angela Martin; and an exceptional caregiver, godmother, and auntie, Margaret Ferrell (Marcus).

Sherrill's presence was a gift to her nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends.  She fought the good fight, kept the faith, and finished her race with grace.
