Sonia Dionne Walker, age 48 of Appomattox, passed away on February 21, 2026 in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was the daughter of Bernard Walker and Senora Mae Harvey Walker.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mike and Martha Robertson; her uncle, Howard Harvey; her brother, Desmond Croner; her nephew, Kevin Burrell; and her close friend, Howson Bates III.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her beloved son, Howson Bates IV, affectionately known as "Lil Frankie"; her two special daughters, Taliyah and Aaliyah; her brothers, Keith (Cheree), Wadell (Lynette), Kasheef (Brandis), Andrez, and a special brother, Calvin Ligon Jr. (Tonya); her sisters, Stephanie (Tom), Kendra, Keandra, and Monica; her special aunt, Mary Daniels; Karen Walker; Georgina Duvall-Walker; Sandra Walker; Ernestine Walker; and Angel Johnson; her uncles, Mac Arthur, Elsworth, Vincent, and William Walker; nieces, Shantal Walker, Destini Robertson, Lauren Robertson, and Shantay Bailey; along with a host of cousins and special friends, will forever cherish her memory.
