Ms. Tanya Renee West, age 64, of New Carrollton, Maryland, and formerly of Brookneal, Virginia, departed this life on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. She was born on December 10, 1961, at Lynchburg General Hospital to the late Winst and Maxine West.

At an early age, Tanya joined Green Spring Baptist Church, where she began her spiritual journey. She was a proud graduate of William Campbell High School, Class of 1980, and American International College, Class of 1984.

Tanya will always be remembered for her joyful personality, radiant smile, and the warmth she brought into every room. Her laughter was contagious, and she had a special gift for bringing sunshine and happiness to all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her devoted son, Delano Fox-West (Anna Maria Rivera) of New Carrollton, Maryland; two beloved grandchildren, Amara and Bryson Fox of New Carrollton, Maryland; and her supportive and loving life partner, Jeffrey Fox of New Carrollton, Maryland.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Stephanie West. She is also survived by one sister, Kim West of Nathalie, Virginia; one brother, Derrick West of Lynchburg, Virginia; one nephew, Dominque West of Washington, D.C.; two nieces, Jewell West of Lynchburg, Virginia, and Kirston West of Eastern Shore, Maryland; five nephews, Julian and Pierre West of Nathalie, Virginia, and Craig and Shawn West of Eastern Shore, Maryland; along with a host of cousins, relatives, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Though Tanya’s earthly journey has ended, the love, laughter, and light she shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her forever.
