Velmer Louise
Clark
March 23, 1951 – December 5, 2025
On December 5, 2025, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Velmer Palmer Clark, entered eternal rest at The Woodland in Farmville, Virginia.
Born on March 23, 1951, in Halifax County, Virginia, to Josephine McIvor and Strattin Lee Palmer, Velmer's life was a testament to love, devotion, and service. She was preceded in death by her son, Tracey Clark; her brother, Benjamin Palmer; and her sisters, Augusta Mae Payne and Patricia Palmer.
Velmer spent her early years in Washington, D.C., before returning to Virginia to lovingly care for her father until his passing. She found joy in family gatherings and in caring for others, always offering kindness and a gentle spirit that made her a blessing to those around her. Her hobbies—tending flowers, dancing, playing cards, and exploring thrift stores—reflected her vibrant personality and appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband, George Clark; her son, Toney Clark, Sr. (Francine); daughter-in-law, Nikki Clark; grandchildren, Akeem Jones (Khadijah), Toney Clark, Jr., Toneka Clark, Parrish Clark, Ameka Harris, and Samiya Stanton; great-grandchildren, Zymir Clark, Aliyah Clark, Aniyah Clark, Kaleah Jones, Arielle Jones, and Akaius Jones; siblings, Arthur Lee Palmer, Shelton Palmer, Samuel Palmer (Onnie), Calvin Palmer (Gazelle), Melvin Palmer (Deloris), and Barbara Tines; sisters-in-law, Cora Lee Pannell, Gloria Ghoston, Dorothy Booth (Leroy), Margaret Skates, Elaine Clark, Jeannette Palmer, and Mary Ferrell; brothers-in-law, Richard Clark and Dewey Bolling; a devoted friend, Mary Wright; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Velmer was deeply loved and will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering devotion to family. Her legacy of compassion and joy will continue to shine through the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
