William Hunter Hamlett "Puppy" age 67 went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on February 23, 2022. He was born on June 18, 1954 in Lynchburg, Virginia to the late Emmett Linwood Hamlett and Beulah Nash Hamlett.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth Nash Hamlett of Buckingham, VA and Gilbert Perkins Hamlett of Charlotte Court House, VA.

Billy was a graduate of Randolph-Henry High School. He was a truck driver with his brother at GP Hamlett Trucking for several years and retired from Virginia Department of Transportation as a transportation operator. Billy was of the Baptist faith.

Billy is survived by his daughter, Crystal Holt (Chris) of Sutherlin, VA and her mother, Patty Tyree; and his stepdaughter, Tara Abbott (Chip) of Bedford, VA, and her mother, Donna Mayhew; two grandchildren, Heather and Dakota; four step-grandchildren, Kalyn, Blake, Austin, and Bailey; four step-great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Wright (James) of Forest, VA; brother, Emmett "Tommy" (Hazel) of Charlotte Court House, VA; two foster children, Charles and Caleb Phillips; and a host of many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend special thanks for Billy's excellent care from the nurses at Bedford Centra Hospice.
