Mr. Dean Allen Hancock, age 58 of Phenix, passed away on January 14, 2016 in Phenix.  He was the son of Mrs. Shirley Hamlett McCluster and the late Mr. Joe Hancock.  He was married to the late Mrs. Wanda Richardson Hancock.

He is survived by one son, Shane Hancock (Brandee) and one daughter, Sabrina H. Lacks (Jamie), all of Vernon Hill, VA; four grandchildren, Cory, Cara, and Colby Hancock, and Haley Edmonds; his mother, Mrs. Shirley Hamlett McCluster of Phenix; two brothers, Louis Hamlett (Kay) of Nathalie and Kenneth Hancock of Phenix; stepbrothers, Ronnie McCluster (Sheila) of Altavista, Dean McCluster (Marilyn), Joe McCluster, and Pat McCluster, all of Chase City.  He was preceded in death by one sister, Joanne Owen and one brother, Randolph Hancock.
