A Godly life ended January 21, 2012 when Queen Glendora Jennings was taken from this earthly life to her Heavenly home. After so much suffering by Sister Queen, the Lord took from her all pain and took her to Himself, where there is no pain and no burden of a tear. We know she is satisfied now and that she is reaping her great reward reserved for the faithful. Queen, known to all as "Glen," was born on October 25, 1947 to the late David Dennis and the late Josephine Sydnor Dennis. She was educated in the Halifax County Public School System. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined the Ellis Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her health began to fail her. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA for many years, Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Brookneal, VA and finally as a private sitting nurse before her health took her permanently out of work. She worked faithfully in her church and was especially loyal to the work in the auxiliaries that she was a part of which included church clerk, Sunday School secretary, usher ministry, youth ministry, and missionary ministry, never refusing a task because she was already too busy, or because she was too tired. She was first joined in Holy Matrimony to the late George Donald Garrett and to this union four children were born. She later married Charlie Wilson Jennings. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Josephine Dennis; one sister, Mrs. Jane Elvie Boyd; and one niece, Angelia Maxine Forest. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband of 14 years, Charlie Wilson Jennings of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Tracey C. Garrett Pettigrew of the home, Donna L.
